IP CENTREX

The Council for Access Technologies' major initiatives in the year 2001 focus on the evolution of Centrex services from circuit-switched technologies to packet-switched technologies. Centrex is a set of network-based voice solutions which address the needs of business customers.

The CAT has developed an IP Centrex web site to provide corporate telecom managers and end-users with information which will help them plan their future telecom needs. This web site resides at www.IP-Centrex.org.

The CAT is also defining industry-wide initiatives with telecom equipment manufacturers and service providers. These initiatives will help support provisioning, equipment interoperability, service uniformity, and feature availability for IP Centrex .
